In this 60 minute workshop you'll learn the same therapeutic interventions I use with my patients to help them quiet their fight or flight response:

Specific strategies and coping mechanisms for adjusting your mind and body's response to dysregulation (your child's or your own)

How to combat the common triggers that may be sabotaging your ability to stay calm

Mindfulness exercises you can do on your own to strengthen your ability to regulate in the heat of the moment

How to model these self-regulation skills to your child, fostering their resilience, distress tolerance and overall mental wellness

And how all this works together to decrease the frequency and intensity of tantrums, not through changes we make to our child, but by changes we make in ourselves.

Dysregulation is contagious!

When our child is in meltdown mode our brain interprets that as a threat and our fight or flight response kicks into high gear.

But that doesn't mean we're doomed to a never ending cycle of tears (yours and theirs). There are things we can do to shift our response so that we can still parent with a clear head and calm body.

And here's the best part - once we do this we are able to share that calm with our child, a process called coregulation.

Using our own calm nervous system to calm their nervous system down is one of the most effective ways to help a child move through a tantrum or meltdown, and increase their self regulation skills over time.

I'll help you understand the most important first step to managing your child's emotion regulation -
your own.

I'll help you understand the most important first step to managing your child's emotion regulation -
your own.

Before you can help your child work through their big emotions, you first need to learn to regulate your own brain and body.

That’s not always easy. As a licensed clinical psychologist and mom of 2 young children, I get that.

I’ll help you learn how to understand and process your unique triggers and arm you with the tools you need to stay cool in the heat of the moment so you can be the calming presence your child needs most.
